The Rooster and The Pearl
A rooster was once strutting up and down the farmyard among the hens. He suddenly saw something shining in the middle of the straw. ‘Ho! Ho!” he said, ‘that’s for me, and quickly took it out from beneath the straw. It was a pearl that by some chance had been lost in the farmyard!
Looking at the pearl, Rooster said ‘You may be precious to people who think that you are very valuable, but I would rather have a single barley-corn than a peck of pearls.
