The Crow and The Pitcher

Once, a Crow, half-dead with thirst, was flying in search of water. He was very thirsty and wanted to quench his thirst as soon as possible. Suddenly, he saw a pitcher.

The Crow put his beak into the pitcher but found that only very little water was left in it and he could not reach far enough down to get at it. He tried and tried, but at last, had to give up in vain. Then a thought came to his mind and he dropped one pebble into the pitcher.

Then, he took another pebble and dropped it into the pitcher. He continued dropping pebbles into the pitcher

At last, he saw the water coming up and after putting in a few more pebbles he was able to quench his thirst and save his life.
