A Tailor and The Elephant
Once there lived a tailor in a village. He worked in his shop and was happy with his lot. An elephant also lived in the village. The elephant was friendly with everyone and everyone was fond of him. The tailor was especially fond of the elephant. He visited the tailor’s shop everyday and the tailor fed him with something. Thus they lived like good friends.
One day, as usual, the elephant came to the tailor’s shop. The tailor was not in a good mood. Instead of giving him something to eat, he took up his needle and pricked the trunk of the elephant. The elephant did not say anything and went away. He went to the river and filled his trunk with plenty of mud and dirt and came running to the shop and emptied his trunk on the face of the tailor. The tailor was drenched with dirt all over besides all the clothes of the customers became dirty. They were spoiled. The tailor understood the anger of the elephant and cursed the time when he pricked the trunk of the elephant with a needle. The elephant went away. Now the tailor was sorry for his act and also for the loss of his customer’s clothes.
Next day, the tailor searched for the elephant and asked forgiveness from him, fed him with some fresh fruit and vegetables and thus their friendship was renewed again.
