The Vain Stag
One day a stag saw his clear reflection in a clear pool of water. He felt very proud seeing his glorious and presentable horns. They were really magnificent. The stag danced out of pride. Next his eyes fell on his black, thin and ugly legs. He felt very sorry. He hated his legs the most. His sharp ears heard the sound of the horns of the, hunters and their hounds. He ran for his life. The hounds chased him. The legs of the stag carried him away at a tremendous speed. Very soon he was out of the sight of the hounds and the hunters. Unluckily, his big and beautiful horns got entangled in some thick bushes, He tried his level best to free himself but all in vain. He thanked his ugly legs which had saved him so far from the hounds. He cursed his horns which put his life in danger. The hounds located him and pounced upon him. They tore him into pieces. Ugly proved beautiful and beautiful proved ugly. Strange are the mysteries of God.
Moral: All that glitters is not gold.
