A Bus Collision
It was a Monday morning. Mary had woken up late so she hurried to change and then got ready to catch the public bus to go to school. As it was the morning peak hour, the bus was packed with passengers. Mary managed to squeeze her way up and find a seat.
The bus driver was driving very quickly and quite recklessly. In fact, he seemed to be in a hurry. All of a sudden, the bus driver sounded his horns before applying the brakes. The bus screeched to a halt. However, it still hit the bus in front of it.
All the commuters standing fell onto one another. They all screamed in pain. Mary too fell forward and hit her head against the railing on the seat in front. She groaned in pain and felt giddy. The windows were smashed and smithereens of glass flew in all directions. The old man sitting next to her was cut by some pieces of glass. He was bleeding.
The bus driver opened the two doors and asked those who were all right to alight from the bus. Mary got off the bus and sat at the bus stop. The traffic came to a standstill as the two buses had occupied the entire lane.
Ambulances arrived and paramedics attended to them. Police officers who arrived shortly began to check out what had happened. They questioned eyewitnesses before they dispersed the crowd.
Mary was sent to the hospital because she had a gash on her forehead. Her parents were informed and they visited her at the hospital. It was a traumatic experience for Mary.
