Video Gaming Competition
Recently a video gaming competition called ‘Toonami Game On’ was held in New Delhi at a convention centre. The championship competition was sponsored by ‘Cartoon Network’ T.V. channel. The organizers claimed that the concept of video gaming was fast gaining popularity with the Indian kids.
The format was kept conventional preliminary elimination rounds leading to the grand finale. 40 high tech Xboxes had been set up at the venue. Two players were to compete on each to move to the next level till there was a final champion.
A crowd of kids had turned up in their smartest with parents in tow. There was a charged up festival like atmosphere. Dazzling lights and blaring music excited the kids as the competitors moved towards the consoles. For non-competitors the organizers had provided free Video game slots outside the convention centre. Ice creams were on the house.
The competitors had been shortlisted through an on air contest and given the feel of Xbox. The difficulty quotient increased with each round. So did the excitement. Racing track became more and more tricky to negotiate. As the finalists clashed the excitement reached the peak. Finally, Ajay Raheja, an 8 years old student of Laxman Public School won the championship.
