The First Saudi Woman Pilot
Captain Hanadi Mindi shall become the first woman pilot of Saudi Arabia. It is for the first time that the conservative Islamic country like Saudi Arabia has granted permission to a woman to fly in the air.
Captain Mindi is supposed to take a flight with the private fleet of the Prince.
Captain Mindi says that she had in fact never wanted to become a pioneer, but happened to become that by chance. She used to take flights along with her father, who wished to be a pilot. This way, she learned to fly in the air and became the first woman pilot of Saudi Arabia.
Prince-Al- Walid bin Talal is highly impressed by the spiritful woman, and thus he had granted permission to make her the part of his private crew. But, inspite of the liberal attitude of the Prince the conservatives are creating obstacles on the pretext that Saudi women are not allowed to travel with men other than their relatives or male guardian.
Captain Mindi is clever enough to defend herself from such people. She says that her father, Zakaria Mindi shall accompany her on all trips so that no one could say that she is travelling without a male relative.
Captain Mindi wants to proceed to London for a three-month training course, before she takes up a job as a pilot for Prince Al-Walid. Amazing achievements of a young pioneer of Saudi Arabia indeed!
