Summer Holidays
We are all going on a summer holiday,
no more working for a week or two.
Fun and laughter on a summer holiday
Summer holidays have forever been immortalized by Cliff Richards in this song. What makes summer holidays so special?
To some people, summer holidays mean travelling to and exploring new places. To others, it might mean an annual visit to their native city or village, to meet and spend time with grandparents, cousins, uncles and aunts.
To me, the first thing that summer holidays mean is no school, no homework and no, or very little, studying. I think that is sufficient reason to make this time special, don’t you?
It’s that time of the year when our days are packed with hours of cycling, reading and playing outdoor games.
Summer holidays are also a time to learn new crafts, make new friends and indulge in our hobbies. You might like to undertake a new project like making a scaled airplane or creating a beaded jewellery set. Won’t it be fun to see these projects completed at the end of the holidays?
Summer holidays are an important pan of our school life as they are the transition period in our growing years. What memories would you like to have of your summer holidays?
