Our Country

India, also known as Bharat is our country and we are all its citizens. India is the seventh largest and the second most populous in the world.

Measuring from North to South ‘about 3214 Kilometers, and from East to West about 2933 kilometers covering an area of more than thirty-two thousand square kilometers. India has more than sixty-four crores of people living.

We are surrounded on all the three sides by the Arabic sea, Indian Ocean and the Bay of Bengal. Andaman and Nicobar Islands in the east and Lakshadweep islands in the west are part of our Motherland.

Pakistan, Afghanistan, China, Nepal, Bhutan, Burma and Bangladesh are our neighbors.

Our people belong to different religions, caste and communities. They speak different languages and they are of different cultures. But we are united under one flag.

Rabindranath Tagore, one of the great poets of India and the author of our National Anthem is honoured by our singing of the same with reverence.

Great saints like, Gaudhame Budha, Mahaveera, Adi Sankara, Ramanuja and Madhwacharya were born here and this is the birth place of Guru Nanak, the founder of the Sikhs.

India has many temples and many festivals. All over one finds historical places constructed by the great rulers in the past. Nalanda was one of the ancient popular universities in India.

Divided though we are by religion and castes, united we areas Indians.

The British rule brought all the diversified forces in India under the Indian National Flag. Our brae national leaders fought for the freedom of India.

Mahatma Gandhi, father of the Independence movement is renowned all over the world. He stood for truth and simplicity.

We are a Reece loving nation and believe in a polity of non-interference in the Affairs of other countries. So we maintain good relationships with all the countries in the world.

India has many places of interest for tourists from foreign countries. Our hospitality has gained popularity with all visitors from other lands. Many foreigners want to learn about the teachings of the great masters of India. They find peace and by to emulate the Indian way of life.

The Himalayas are the highest mountains of the world. They are a great wall separating India from its neighbours.

We are very proud of our country and its great heritage of wisdom and knowledge.
