Kasturba Gandhi
Kasturba Gandhi was the wife of, Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, the greatest leader of the nation, and a great soul of the world.
Kasturba was married to Mohandas Gandhi at the age of twelve years in Porbandar.
Kasturba Gandhi followed the footsteps of this greatest of great leaders till her last breath. Kasturba Gandhi was a very wise woman. She never favored the wrong decisions of her husband howmuchever he compelled her to do so. Kasturba Gandhi would accept all the right decisions of her husband and reject the wrong ones.
Kasturba Gandhi loved her husband from her soul, but she would always condemn, what she thought was wrong and agree to all decisions, what she thought was right. That time the British. were doing atrocities on the Indians on the excuse of colour discrimination and barriers of caste and creed.
Kasturba Gandhi used to protest this wrong doing of British strongly. She was surprised at the absurdity of British, who misbehaved with virtuous personalities like Mahatma Gandhi for no rhyme or reason.
Kasturba Gandhi was a simple-minded lady. She never had any hatred for anybody, but she could not tolerate injustice done to the innocent souls like her. Kasturba Gandhi used to help Mahatma Gandhi in all his endeavors done to serve the people of his country. She would run the household affairs, look after the guests and lend a helping hand to her husband in everything he did.
Mahatma Gandhi himself said that Kasturba was a great patriot and administrator. She never got tired while, working. Kasturba Gandhi loved. her husband from the core of her heart. She didn’t eat for three days, when she got the news that her husband has been arrested by the British.
Kasturba Gandhi travelled with her husband everywhere that he took her and helped in bringing peace and prosperity in his nation.
Kasturba was arrested in 1932 and put in the prison for three months. In 1937, she again got arrested for participating in freedom movements. In 1944, Kasturba got seriously sick and died in the loving care of her husband ‘Mahatma Gandhi’ while chanting God’s holy name.
