Indo-Tibet Relations
It is a well-known fact that India had maintained good relationships with Tibet from ages. India has always wished the well-being of the people of Tibet, and have done all efforts to make them comfortable.
But inspite of all efforts done by India to make them happy, the Tibetans are greatly frustrated under the Chinese rule. The Chinese are not willing to leave Tibet and the Tibetans are not willing to let them live there. The Dalai Lama has however accepted defeat and has stated that Chinese rule could be accepted if they are kind towards Tibetans. He had thanked India and Indian people for their sympathy and support. He also expressed his gratitude towards India for allowing the Tibetans to stay in India for the past 45 years. He attributed that since Tibet and India have enjoyed close religious and cultural ties for centuries together therefore the Tibetans felt like a part of India.
Inspite of Dalai Lama’s acceptance of Chinese rule in Tibet, the people of Tibet are not ready to give in easily. They want total freedom from Chinese rule. The Tibetans hold Dalai Lama in high esteem, yet are not agreed to accept Dalai Lama’s decision of allowing Chinese rule in Tibet.
The members of the Tibetan Youth Congress have stated that, inspite of their firm belief in Dalai Lama, they disagree with his decision to allow Chinese rule in their country. The people of Tibet feel that Chinese are not good rulers. They are torturing Tibetans and are disrupting law and order. Had they been kind, they would have dealt Tibetans with honour and respect. They would have not snatched away their rights but had allowed them to live life in their own terms conditions.
Chinese tried to dismantle the rich Tibetan heritage and got success in this mission.
The Chinese aggressors terrorize Tibetans mercilessly, when they don’t obey their command. India must take initiative in granting full freedom to Tibet from Chinese rulers, else, any other country like China may get encouraged to behave like China and occupy the territories of others.
If one criminal is not discouraged, the other criminals gets encouraged to commit the same crime shamelessly. The same way, if one criminal country is not discouraged, the ether country gets encouraged to commit the same crime, without any hesitation as done by Iraq, when it invaded Kuwait in the early 90’s. Thus, it’s a dire need to discourage the offending country from committing crime in order to avoid great revolutions by tortured people in future.
India must politely advise Chinese govt. to leave Tibet, else the Tibetans may become revolutionary and can harm the Chinese people through their words and deeds. Thus, India must not permit the Chinese aggressors to rule in Tibet, as Tibetans want full freedom, and they deserve, what they desire, because Tibet is their motherland. They have every right to raise a voice against outsiders, who have occupied their land forcibly.
Indian people too share the dreams of Tibetans for a free Tibet, and every Indian hopes that our Indian government shall support the cause of Tibetans and grant it full freedom one day.
