Indian Youth
Young people are of a great help to the country. They can devote themselves to the national cause when their energies are properly harnessed and directed. The older generation seek the assistance of the younger ones whenever required but refuse to grant them important positions and opportunities for which they are really fit.
Hence, the Indian youth have a feeling that they are ignored by the older generation and are being fully exploited by them. They are therefore not playing any important or constructive role in the country.
Indian youth are still respectful and courteous to their elders and follow the national tradition. But still the power of youth has not been fully utilised.
Indians by nature are conservative and do not want any change in the working condition. A nation cannot progress if her social customs and traditions remain stagnant. There should be a change for the betterment of living conditions from time to time. When the old people manage the affairs of a nation, they want to maintain the old system and tradition intact.
Young people by giving a touch of novelty and by their initiative can overhaul the social system of the country. So, the young people shall revolt against the customs and traditions which have outlived their utility.
The older generation has become selfish and highly utilitarian and they are more worldly in their outlook. Only young people can help in consolidating democratic set up for they are always generous and large hearted. They can ignore minor lapses and dedicate themselves for the public welfare.
People should be always being vigilant to prevent exploitation by politicians. They should be law abiding and nonviolent and should not be a menace to established government. They can stabilize the political conditions and help the Government. They have to rise above the petty differences of caste, creed, religion and language. This can only be possible with young people.
But of late, due to over backwardness and problems of unemployment, the Indian youth stand frustrated. But the devotion of the Indian youth to his parents and his respect for all elders, has prevented him from resorting of unholy acts of violence and destruction. He needs only a direction in the right line to befit him for the role of leading and building up the nation.
For a long time there was no one to organise the energies of the Indian youth in the right direction. Bu now they stand organised and have realised their new role in the nation building. New leadership is sprouting up among the youth. The leader of the youth must be capable of holding them together because the young do not like to subordinate themselves easily and the youth of India have now a new role to play.
