If I Could Be a Different Age
I am sure you will agree that babies are the sweetest souls in the whole world-and they have the most fun too!
I think babies have the easiest life. They always have somebody to feed and bathe them. In fact, people fight with each other to do their jobs for them. They lie in bed all day long and when they want to move to another room all they have to do is open their mouth and cry.
Aren’t they lucky? They can sleep when they want and eat where they want, even in front of the television! They simply spit out food if they do not like the taste of it; only to be fed something they like. They are never forced to eat green leafy vegetables or made to finish their porridge.
No getting up early for school, no homework to complete; they never have to team spellings or the time tables and they never need to pack their school bags! They never have to pick up their dirty clothes or tidy up their rooms; and no polishing shoes either!
How I wish I were a baby again. I would never cry and be sad. I would coo all day long and enjoy each moment more because I now know how much work there is to do when I am all grow up!
