Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam
Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam is a treasure of virtues. He is skillful, brilliant, dynamic, talented, benevolent and above all, a good human being. He has the heart of a gold and the soul of an angel.
Dr. Kalam was born on 15 October 1931 in Dhanushkodi, situated in Tamilnadu’sRameshwaram district. His father was a poor boat maker, but was a very laborious person. He would work hard for days and nights together to earn money for the survival of himself and his family.
Initially Kalam was admitted in Ramehwaram Panchayat elementary school, and thereafter he gained admission in Schwartz school at Rameshwaram. Thereafter he completed his Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) from St. Joseph’s college, Thiruchirapalli. Later on, Kalam got admitted in Madras Institute of Technology and finished Aeronautical Engineering from the prestigious institute.
In the year 1958, he joined DRDO (Defence Research Development Organisation) as the assistant scientist. After that, he joined ISRO (Indian Space Research Organisation). At ISRO, he was appointed as the project director of SLV3 project.
Dr. Abdul Kalam portrayed great brilliance in handling such a difficult project. In this project he was supposed to manage and design India’s indigenous satellite launch vehicle, and this brilliant scientist attained wonderful success in it.
The success of SLV-3 project made him one of the top-most scientist of the nation. Later on he completed the project Agni Missile and attributed another success story in his glorious achievements.
His wonderful work in missile technology brought him abundant awards and rewards in his professional career. Now he was referred to as the ‘Missile Man of India’. In the year 1998.
Dr. Kalam worked on a Hydrogen bomb project to strengthen up the defensive force of the country. Dr. Kalam is not in favour of war otherwise. He had enhanced the power of nuclear technology for defensive purpose not to offend the other countries of the world. Dr. Kalam is the lover of peace and he wants to bring peace, not only in his own country, but all the other countries of the world too. May our benevolent President live a long and healthy life!
