Death in The Neighborhood
Yesterday morning when we were still in our bed, we heard cries in the neighboring house of Mr. Varma. When I came out to find out as to what had happened, I came to know that Mr. Varma’s mother, who was more than eighty years old, had breathed her last in the early hours of the morning. She was bed-ridden for the last fortnight. As the day advanced, many people from the locality started gathering outside the house. After some time, relatives from far and near started pouring in. A large number of vehicles were parked outside the house of Mr.Varma and in the nearby lanes. The deceased lady was very noon time. The dead body was covered with flowers. One good thing was that the lady had died peacefully at her full age. The funeral was carried to the cremation-ground and the pier was lit by Mr. Varma. We prayed for peace to the departed soul.
