Reg: Compensation for lost goods
This is to bring to your kind notice that our consignment of hosiery goods dispatched from Delhi on 25th October, 20….., has been found tampered with during transit. The Railway clerk at Patna from whom the consignment was received has duly certified this fact. His remarks are enclosed herewith.
The pilferage of woolen goods has resulted in a loss of Rs. 10,500 to us. A separate sheet detailing the loss is also enclosed herewith.
You are, therefore, requested to register this claim of ours and arrange adequate compensation to us for the said loss. Your immediate attention to this matter is solicited.
