My Best Friend
Since man is a social being, he likes to make friends and communicate with other people, share ideas, and have fun together.
There is an old proverb which says that a man is judged by the company he keeps. Therefore, it is important to choose your friends carefully.
Mere friends are plenty, but genuine friends are hard to find. I have many acquaintances in school, but Cyrus is my best friend. I am really proud of his friendship.
Cyrus has so many positive qualities. He is affectionate, sociable, and above all, extremely helpful. He is a good sportsman too. His creative abilities never fail to impress me. Despite being so popular among his classmates and teachers, he is very humble.
His father is in the Indian Army, and Cyrus has been brought up in a disciplined way. He, too, wants to be an army officer one day and serve his country.
I have learnt so much from him that my life has changed for the better. I was a very careless person but now I realize my responsibilities, and am working hard for my own future. How wonderful friendship can really be! I am reminded of a poem we learnt at school:
Friendship is a wonderful gift,
That people share together;
And if we keep this bond growing
We will be friends forever!
