Dear Sir,
I shall feel obliged if you kindly publish the following few lines in the columns of your esteemed paper
The Model Town is an important locality in Amritsar. It stretches for about two furlongs along the Batala Road. The population of this locality is not less than four thousand in any case. The people living in the locality are as well-to-do businessmen and Government officials.
It is a pity that there is no post office in this locality. The need of one is being badly left. Every resident of the locality receives some letters daily. A number of registered letters, parcels, money-orders and telegrams also are daily received and sent. A post office in this locality is sure to be a paying concern. The Postal Department will be satisfying a genuine need by opening a post office in this locality. The residents of the locality are ready and willing to place a suitable building for the purpose at the disposal of the Postal Department, free of rent. They will give fullest co-operation in every other way.
Hoping you will do the needful at an early date,
Yours faithfully,
Subhash Verma.
