My Dear Kishore,
How is it that you seldom write to me? Please do keep me informed of your health and activities. As a friend, I must share my experiences with you.
You know I am very fond of reading good books especially biographies of great men. I got in prize ‘My Life’ by Winston Churchill. It is his autobiography. Hiked it very much. I feel enmoured of it. Churchill is a gifted writer. His descriptions of men and scenes are real and life like. He puts life into everything he describes or writes about. He wields a facile pen.
All his life he has been very daring and adventurous. Nothing can daunt him and nothing can dismay him. Whatever the hurdles and difficulties, he presses on and on. Success attends his footsteps wherever he goes. He plays many roles in his life—a soldier, a war correspondent, an author, a politician, a great parliamentarian, an astute politician and the greatest Prime Minister that England has ever produced. Though very old in years, he is always young in mind and spirit.
The book is most interesting from the beginning to the end. The descriptions and the language are excellent. He is a juggler with words. He uses the right word, at the right place and at the right time. It is a book of all time. The more I read it, the more I like it. The style of writing is natural and gripping. The book is selling like hot cakes. It is my proudest possession. The book has inspired me more than anything else. I aspire to be great like Churchill who was elected to the House of Commons when he was only twenty-six.
I mean to send the book to you as soon as I have done with it.
Hoping this will find you in the best of health and spirits.
Yours sincerely,
Avinash Sharma.
