A Cycling Accident
“Let’s try the new park connector!” Jason shouted over his shoulder to his brother, Matthew. Matthew agreed and they cycled onto the newly paved road that connected their estate to the next one.
The boys admired the beautiful trees that had been planted there. The route was very scenic. There were small pavilions along the way. The elderly were sitting and chatting there. There was also a foot reflexology path. Next to it was a huge playground. Several children were playing there. Jason was pointing out a beautiful pink flower to Matthew when someone gave a shout. “Look out!” However, it was too late. Matthew had crashed into a young girl who had run out of the playground suddenly. Her right leg was crushed under the front wheel of Matthew’s bicycle. She was sobbing in pain. Matthew and Jason hurriedly lifted the bicycle off her leg. There was a deep cut and her leg was bleeding badly. The girl’s mother rushed over and carried her daughter to a nearby bench. Several onlookers came over to help.
One of the onlookers called for the ambulance and the girl was taken to the nearest hospital. Matthew was filled with remorse for not being more careful. He decided to visit the hospital with Jason to see how the girl was.
