A Go-kart Accident
Terrence put on his helmet and jumped into the go-kart. He had been queueing for a long time and he could not wait to get started.
Terrence nodded at the instructor who was telling him how to control the go-kart. It was the first time he had been sitting in one but he was sure that he already knew everything. He did not listen to the instructor. He was too eager to get started. When the instructor gave him the signal, Terrence stepped on the pedal. He was off in a flash. The go-kart zoomed ahead so fast that Terrence’s heart was in his mouth. He gripped the steering wheel to control the go-kart. It was too late by the time he noticed the turn in front. Instead of slowing down, he was still travelling at top speed. He knocked down several cones and the go-kart swerved out of control. Terrence’s instructor rushed towards him but it was too late. The go-kart overturned. Terrence was lodged between the go-kart and the road.
Fortunately, Terrence was wearing a helmet. He was not badly injured. He only had a few bruises on his arms. His instructor warned him sternly not to drive so quickly again.
