Doing Research
Samantha could not wait to start work on her group project. For the first time, she and her group would be doing their research online. They would use search engines on the Internet to look for the information they needed.
After school, Samantha went to the library with her group members, Aaron and Shawn, to use the computers there. Samantha used Google’s search engine to search for information on the Andes Mountains. Shawn used the Google search engine to search for the information. Clicking on the relevant websites, Samantha and Shawn searched for the information they needed. Aaron peered over their shoulders at the information they found and helped them to sieve out what was important. They found it easier and faster to get the information this way than to browse through the books at the library. After Aaron wrote down all the information they needed, Samantha searched for images of the Andes Mountains. She found many pictures. They had a hard time picking just a few. Finally, when they had selected what they wanted, they saved everything into a thumb drive.
They could not wait to work on their project the next day with the information that they had. They had so much fun using the Internet that they hoped their teacher would set more projects for them again.
