The Torn Dress
Pamela spun around in front of the mirror. She was very pleased. Her long lime green gown reached to the floor. It swirled around when she walked. She felt like a princess. Just then, her mother called for her. Pamela grabbed her bag and ran out of the room.
Pamela raced down the stairs and out to the car. Her mother was driving her to her best friend’s birthday party. Pamela was very excited. She sat on the edge of her seat all the way to the party. When they arrived, Pamela opened the door even before her mother came to a complete stop. She jumped out of the car and slammed the door behind her. She was so excited about going to the party that she forgot that she was wearing a long gown. Suddenly, a ripping sound could be heard. Pamela froze. She knew what it was immediately. She stared behind her and saw a piece of her gown flapping at the door of the car. Her heart sank. Her dress was ruined.
Although Pamela wanted to go to the party very badly, she was too ashamed to be seen in the torn gown. With a heavy heart, she got back into the car and told her mother that she wanted to go home.
