Splashed!
It was the morning peak hour and Mr. Foo was waiting for the bus. The bus stop was packed with people going to work. Mr. Foo stood on tiptoes at the back of the bus stop as he tried to see the numbers of the buses that were arriving.
Mr. Foo was glad when most of the people went up a bus. Just then, he saw the bus that he wanted to take approaching the bus stop. Mr. Foo flagged for the bus and inched as near the road as he could. He was so eager to get on the bus that he did not notice the huge puddle of muddy water on the road in front of him. As the bus rumbled into the bus stop, muddy water from the puddle splashed onto Mr. Foo. He was covered from head to toe with muddy water. There was even mud dripping from his spectacles.
The other passengers pushed past Mr. Foo and went up the bus. Poor Mr. Foo had to go home to change. He would surely be late for work. Just before he walked off, a young girl went up to him and gave him a packet of tissues. She was giggling as she told him that he looked like he had just taken a mud bath.
