A Love for Animals
Geraldine picked up her puppy and stroked its fur. Then, she kissed it and put it back in its basket that was in the living room. She then walked to the other end of the living room where her goldfish and birds were. There were three goldfish swimming about in the fish tank and two colourful birds tweeting merrily. After feeding them, Geraldine went to the kitchen to feed her white fluffy rabbit. Geraldine liked animals very much.
Once, when Geraldine was on her way home from school, she saw a stray kitten whimpering outside the lift. Geraldine was filled with pity for the kitten. It was so small and helpless. It was dirty and it looked hungry. She decided to take it home. Her parents were against her having another pet in the house but Geraldine insisted on keeping it. She cleaned it and fed it. Then, she put some blankets in a small basket and put the kitten in it. She gave the kitten an old sock to play with. It was delightful. It kicked the sock about with its tiny paws. It also mewed happily.
Geraldine could not wait to get another pet. She wanted a hamster next. She wondered if her parents would allow her to keep one.
