A Disobedient Boy
Michael stood on tiptoes and stared at the row of crystal figurines in the display case. His father had warned him not to touch them but he wanted to play with them.
Michael took out the figurines one at a time. He placed them on the coffee table. He was thrilled. His father had the entire collection of the members in a famous football team. He arranged the figurines in a formation ready for a game.
It was time for a football match! Michael crushed a small piece of paper into a ball. Then, he made the figurines kick the ball. It was a fast-paced game. Michael did not notice that a few of the figurines were at the edge of the table.
Crash! The figurines fell to the floor. Michael froze. He stared at the fragments on the floor. Just then, he heard his father’s voice on the doorstep. His father was home! Michael broke out in a cold sweat. He knew he would be severely scolded. He tried his best to clear up the mess but it was too late. His father knew what had happened the minute he stepped into the house. He was so angry that he told Michael he would not be allowed to go to the park for a month.
