Sharing
Anthony came from a large family of eight. He had five other siblings. As there were so many of them, his parents could not afford to buy everyone toys or clothes. Sometimes, they had to share their food and drinks too.
On special occasions, Anthony’s parents would take them to the food court. Anthony liked the air-conditioned place and the wide variety of food. He often shared a plate of chicken rice with two of his siblings. His other siblings would share a plate of rice with meat and vegetables. The food was not enough to fill them up but they did not mind. The supermarket next to the food court always sold huge bottles of drinks for a dollar each. Anthony’s parents would buy a bottle and take it to the food court. Everyone would share the drink. Sometimes, his mother would give him her share. His parents did not order any food for themselves at the food court. They ate the leftovers. If there were none, they would share a bowl of noodles.
Anthony was grateful to his parents for taking good care of him and his siblings. He hoped to provide for them in the future.
