One needs to work hard to achieve their goal
A saint was worshipping God standing in river water. Just then a youth, who was passing by that side, went to the saint and requested, “Guruji, I want to be your disciple. Please help me meet God.” The saint asked the youth to come down into the river. When the youth went near him, the saint took hold of his neck and dipped him in the river forcibly. After some time when the youth started convulsing, the saint released the youth. Astounded by this behaviour, the youth asked the saint why he did so. The saint replied, “If you want to meet God, you need to desire for Him as anxiously and wholeheartedly as you did for life when you were underwater.” The youth understood his point and became his disciple.
Moral: The route to goal is not so easy. One needs to work hard to achieve their goal.
