With love. I hope this letter of mine will find you in rosy health and cheerful spirits. Today I received your letter after many days. Dear! You are fortunate enough to be taking full pleasures of the beauty of the hills of Nainital at present. We shall have to suffer from the scorching heat of summer for at least forty days more. How strange it is that though you are surrounded by the pleasant atmosphere of this place, you are still thinking of the annual function of my college. It would have been better if you had written to me in your letter about the romantic places of Nainital. But you are carrying coals to Newcastle. Anyhow, I yield to your request. Now get ready to read the detailed description of the annual function.
This year the annual function of the college had a special attraction – the inaugural speech made by Shri A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, the Hon’ble President of the Republic of India, and the Indian stage dance by Malini Sanyaal. The Ex-Principal of the college made a welcome speech. All the great scholars and the writers like Dr. Narendra, Amitabh Bachchan, Dr. Alok Kumar, Shri Sharan, and Yagya Dutt Sharma, etc. were present there. Some students of the college participated in Debate Competition. Even the selected students from all colleges of Delhi took part in it. But in this competition, the student of our college, Atul, was declared to be the winner. At night there was “Kavi Sammelan in which some famous poets took part. The next day the Dramatic Club of the College presented a drama known as ‘Hungry Humanity’. From an acting point of view, it was a great success. The third day was exclusively devoted to dance performances. Malini Sanyaal, Pushpa Seghal & the party stole the hearts of spectators. After this program prizes were given away. Many prizes were won by the male & female students of our college. Then at the end of the function, the National Anthem was recited.
