The Dog and The Wolf
Once a Wolf met a House-dog on his way. He was looking very weak. “Ah, Cousin’, said the Dog. I think you have not eaten for many days. Come with me I will introduce you to my master and your life will become much better. You shall live with me. You will be served food regularly. But in return, you shall share my work’.
‘I would have no objection’, said the Wolf, ‘if I could only get a place to live’. So the Wolf and the Dog went towards the town together. On the way, the Wolf saw that hair on a certain part of the Dog’s neck was missing, so he asked him, “how is your hair missing on the neck?”
‘Oh, it is nothing, said the Dog, “That is only the place where the collar is put on at night to keep me chained up. It is because of that chain. But soon one gets used to it’.
‘Is that all?’ said the Wolf. ‘Then goodbye to you, I am much better off. I don’t want to be chained up, Master Dog’.
