A Bus Accident
On the eve of Republic Day, I was returning home from school. Everybody seemed to be in a tremendous hurry. They were overtaking each other from all sides. No one appeared to be paying any attention to traffic rules. Just then I heard a loud crash. I turned around to find out about the source of such a loud noise I found that a D. T. C. had collided head-on with a truck. From the appearance of the accident, I concluded that the truck was coming from the opposite direction and was in the wrong Jane. The windscreens of both the truck and the bus were shattered. The front of the bus had rammed into the engine of the bus. The bus was skewed sideways by the force of the impact. Luckily due to the heavy traffic, the bus and the truck were not speeding. Many passengers in the bus had got hurt because of the impact. Some were bleeding profusely. Others were still in shock when they alighted from the damaged bus. There was however no deaths. The driver of the bus was injured on the forehead with the broken glass of the windscreen. The truck however had suffered only minor damage. Its driver was unhurt. He was caught by the crowd when he tried to flee the scene of the accident. In the meantime, the Police arrived. They sent the injured to the hospital and arrested the truck driver for wrong and negligent driving.
