How to mend a punctured bicycle tube
As school students, our primary mode of transport is the bicycle. And punctures tyre is a common problem that we face every third or fourth day. Mending a puncture is a very easy process. All one needs to have on this occasion is a piece of old bicycle tube, a rubber adhesive, a pair of scissors, and an iron file or sandpaper. We then take out the tube from the fire and fill it with air. Now immerse the tube into a pan full of water. Gently immerse all the tubes until you come to the point from where the air is coming out of the tube. Now deflate the tube and mark this area and take the tube out of the water. Clean this area with the iron file or sandpaper. Now apply a small quantity of adhesive on the rubbed part. Cut a small piece of the old tyre. Clean it with the iron file and apply a small quantity of adhesive to it. Now place this piece on the punctured area and press it hard. If you cannot do so then place this area under something heavy. Wait for about ten-fifteen minutes till the bond is strong. Put the tube inside the tire and mount the tire on the frame of the wheel.
