Subject: Negligence of Duty by Police
Sir,
I wish to lodge a complaint about the negligence or duty by Police of our area.
Last night a theft was committed in our locality in the early hours of the morning. The Watchman on duty saw four men coming stealthily out of a house. On growing suspicious, he raised his voice on which the thieves took to their heels. The Watchman then chased them till the main gate and tried to stop them. I at once rang the police but by the time they came the thieves had already managed to flee in a Maruti Esteem.
Such negligence on the part of police is highly condemn able for had they come on time the thieves would have been caught. I suggest that regular patrolling of the streets at night by the Police must be made a regular and compulsory activity. This way such incidents will be avoided in the future.
