Baisakhi fairs are held where people gather and enjoy.
The festival of Baisakhi is also considered auspicious by the Hindus in North India as traders start new financial year on this day. It was on this day that Guru Gobind Singh created the Khalsa Panth. On this day he baptized five disciples and it is thus sacred for the Sikh community.
