  1. It was a hot summer day.
  2. A crow was very thirsty.
  3. He from place to place in search of water, but could not find on a drop of it.
  4. At last, he reached a garden.
  5. There he saw the pitcher.
  6. He flew down to find if some water was there in the pitcher.
  7. But the level of the water in the pitcher was very low He tried his best to get at the water, but all in vain.
  8. He was about to fly away in despair when he hit upon a plan. He saw a heap of pebbles at some distance.
  9. He picked up the pebbles with its beak one by one and dropped them into the pitcher. The water gradually rose up.
  10. He drank up the water and quenched his thirst. Then he thanked God and flew away.

Moral: Necessity is the mother of invention.
